Using Internet Explorer #
- Go to Internet Explorer's Advanced Menu : Tools => Internet Options => Advanced
- Disable Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility)
Troubleshooting #
- If your IE version is greater than 7.0. you will not see your folder b\view so:
- Click View => Open FTP Site in Internet Explorer. a new Window will appear and after entering your username and password, you will see your personal storage.
- I after entering your username and password (esp. Windows Vista and 7), you see your personal storage in a page view. to switch to Folder view:
- Click Page => Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer, a new Window will appear and after entering your username and password, you will see your personal storage.
Using FTP Clients #
You can use FTP Clients like:
Typically in these clients you get a horizontally spitted window, which gives your PC view on one site and your remote storage on the other one.
- You can connect using your username and password.
- You can create folder, using Right-Click Menu
- You can copy and cut documents, using Drag and Drop.
Troubleshooting #
If you are behind a firewall and/or a router you will need to use a Passive mode for FTP to get a stable connection.
You can configure this setting as shown bellow:
Open FileZilla and go to
Edit ->
Settings. In the Connections section, click
FTP and set the
Passive mode option to
Use the server's external IP address instead.
