- In case of questions or problems about your username , password or accessing your account you can either
visit Mr.Mohseni at Room No. 4, Computation Center of Sharif University of Tech. or send e-mail to mohseni@sharif.edu
- Your e-mails will be stored in the same space as you storage, so to be sure that your e-mail will be received, delete your personal stuff.
- You can monitor your quota and space usage, in you web-mail.
- For security issues and preserving your password, try to use WebMail to read your e-mails.
Outlook Express Configurations #
- Open Outlook or Outlook Express.
- Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts...
- Click Add, and then click Mail...
- Enter your name in the Display name: field, and click Next.
- Enter your full Gmail email address (username@gmail.com) in the Email address: field, and click Next. Enter your full address in the format 'username@physics.sharif.edu'
- Enter physics.sharif.edu in both Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP2 or HTTP) server: and Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: field.
- Click Next.
- Enter your Username in the Account name: field. Enter your email password in the Password: field, and click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Highlight physics.sharif.edu under Account, and click Properties
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Enter 587 in the Outgoing mail (SMTP): field.
- Return to the Servers tab, and check the box next to My server requires authentication.
- Click OK.
If you are trying to use Outlook outside your university, your ISP may have locked port 587. In case of failure, contact your ISP administrator and request them to open the port 587. Until then you can only receive emails via
Outlook Express.
