Research Plan
String theory is the most successful theory for quantum gravity to date. It is based on assumption that fundamental objects of nature are one dimensional strings rather than point-like particles. It naturally incorporates features such as super symmetry and extra dimensions. My interests mainly center around the rather recent major development in field which goes under the general name of AdS/CFT correspondence. This conjecture provides a powerful framework for studying various (strongly coupled) gauge theories in terms of gravitational theories and vice versa.
